A Letter from Guus
Dear visitor,
Some of you might know, that I served more than 11 years at the Royal Dutch Marines (1981-1992). From the Royal Naval Academy to operational practice and international experiences. A very impressive base for my personal development and growth and for successful business assignments later in my carreer.
After leaving the Marines, I started my commercial business life at Schick/Wilkinson Sword (1992-1997, Benelux sales), the second largest shaving company in the world. After that I spent 2 years in the convectionary business at Redband Venco/Leaf (Benelux & France sales). From 1999 till 2006, I lead SodaStream (World leader in consumer home carbonation) in the Benelux from scratch to a double-digit Dollar revenue.
From 2006 until mid-2009, I had 3,5 very exciting years at BRITA GmbH. It took me from their home-market Germany (and Austria), via a very challenging time in the West, setting up/building MAVEA in North America, to exploring business opportunities in the East, in India.
After BRITA/Mavea I returned to my own consultancy/interim agency Doorman Management BV, from where I experienced also very interesting assignments. From a challenging joint attempt to take over Inventum Holland BV (small domestic appliances, 2009-2010) -which we decided to abate-, to leading a very exciting test-project in Germany and the Netherlands (2010-2011) for Bevyz Global Ltd (hot/cold capsule dispensing), to Management-support activities back again at BRITA in 2012 for BRITA Ionox/Vivreau (water dispenser systems) in Obertraubling Bavaria and also running the Private Label Department at BRITA Wasser-Filter-Systeme AG in Neudorf Switzerland.
From late 2012 until late 2016 my team and I were responsible for BRITA’s Distributor Markets (40+) worldwide, which made me travel all over the world (Asia, South Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and more).
From September 2016, I was leading Special Projects for Qualicaps, a hard two-piece capsules and capsule equipment manufacturer, owned by Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC), a KAITEKI Company. This intensive turnaround Project in North America (Qualicaps Inc. NC) ended Q2 of 2018.
From summer 2018 onwards, I was supporting the Management Team of B&T (Van Beekveld en Terpstra, organisatieadviesbureau) in Amsterdam. From 2019 onwards I started to focus my interest and energy in the Cannabis industry. From a challenging CBD-oil project in Suriname, with subsidiaries in Canada, Germany and the Netherlands (heavily disturbed by 2 years of Covid) to a new project in Malta in 2022. At the moment I have a new very interesting assignment in the CBD-pre-rolls business (HOLLANDSCH HOPE, premium quality Cannabis light).
